Dr. Shailendra Vajpeyee, Dean, Govt. Medical College, Surat, Gujarat; has been elected as Fellow of the Academy (International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences) effective May 15, 2011.  This honour has been bestowed upon him in view of his high achievements in his field and distinguished services which he has provided in promoting cardiovascular education and health care delivery.

It is pointed out that there will be only 250 Fellows of the Academy worldwide at any given time.  At this time they have 233 Fellows (please see their website: www.heartacademy.org) and only 15 individuals have been elected this year.  Thus Dr. Shailendra Vajpeyee will be joining high profile cardiovascular surgeons, cardiologists and scientists from around the globe.
